What you don’t see here is the juicy selection of fruits which were a fresh start to each day, trust me the fruits taste so much better here for me to be raving about them again. What we pay in our country does not equate to the quality we get sadly. The peaches and the plums were my first pick.

The cheese platter delighted us everyday with new introductions such Kasar cheese, prepared in cylindrical molds and is dark yellow in color. The Tulum variety, produced by breaking up the teleme, salting it and letting it sit in special bags. However the one that did rounds with my palate was the Labne Balls ( that’s a Greek name and not sure of the Turk name).

The array of breads and cakes as you see was vast, but I stuck to having the local bread Simit (a bagel with sesame seeds) each day. What I found really useful and intelligent was the installation of a griller that helped make hot sandwiches on-spot.

Last but not yet the least, the tea counter was as exotic, with a collection of different floral teas and herbal teas like sage, mint, parsley, linden, lavender flowers etc. self make and serve in a French press style.

Today, however I settled with an apple tea.
